Many people consider dental implants when a tooth is missing, failing, or no longer feels as secure as it once did.
For some, the change is sudden, a tooth breaks or needs to be removed.
For others, it develops gradually as teeth weaken over time.

You may feel conscious about the gap, or find certain foods harder to eat comfortably.

You may have been told a tooth cannot be saved and want to understand the most reliable long-term replacement option.

Repeated repairs can feel temporary, leading patients to look for a more predictable solution.

You may find yourself favouring one side due to discomfort or concern about damaging a tooth.

Removable teeth can move when eating or speaking, making daily life feel less secure.

Gaps can affect confidence when smiling, speaking, or being photographed.

Enjoying certain foods can become difficult when a tooth is missing or unstable.

Many patients want something that feels stable, natural, and allows them to eat and smile with confidence again.
Dental implants are designed to replace missing teeth with a stable, long-term solution that restores comfort, function, and confidence.

A dental implant is a fixed, long-term way to replace a missing tooth.
It is designed to look, feel and function as naturally as possible, helping restore comfort when eating and confidence when smiling.
A small titanium implant is placed into the jawbone, where it acts as a stable foundation for a custom-made replacement tooth.
Treatment is carefully planned using digital imaging to ensure precision and predictability.
Dental implant treatment is not one-size-fits-all. The number of implants recommended will depend on how many teeth are missing, the condition of the surrounding teeth, and your long-term goals.
Your treatment plan is carefully designed to provide a stable, predictable, and natural-looking result.

Single implants are recommended to act as a replacement when a single tooth is missing or if a tooth needs to be extracted. If you are missing just one natural tooth, then one implant is normally all that will be needed to provide a replacement.
This type of treatment is useful when we do not want to damage, modify or impact the healthy adjacent teeth on either side of the missing tooth.
If you have several missing teeth in a row then it’s likely that you may need two or more implants to give you support to a bridge and hold several dental crowns in place.
For example, two dental implants can hold three dental crowns together in one dental bridge. The number of implants required will depend on the number of teeth missing and their location.

Imagine throwing away the denture glue forever. With implant-supported dentures your dentures can be held firmly in place with as little as two dental implants.
Instead of denture glue, your dentures “click” firmly onto dental implants fixed in your jaw and are held firmly in place allowing you to eat, smile and enjoy life again. You can remove these dentures to clean them.
You may have heard of All-on-4 implants or Same Day Implants before. This revolutionary treatment gives loose denture sufferers or patients with failing teeth to have thier life transformed in a single day.
Four to six dental implants are placed at strategic positions and angles in the jaw to enable us to fit a fixed permanent set of teeth in a single day procedure. This is the closest possible solution to getting your full natural teeth back.

Dental implants are designed to provide a stable, long-term solution for replacing missing teeth,
helping restore comfort, confidence, and everyday function.

Dental implants are fixed in place, meaning they do not move when eating or speaking. Many patients find they feel similar to natural teeth.

Replacement teeth are carefully matched to the shape and colour of your existing teeth, helping them blend naturally with your smile.

Implants provide strong support for replacement teeth, allowing you to enjoy a wider range of foods with greater confidence.

With appropriate care, dental implants are designed to provide a predictable and durable option for replacing missing teeth.

Dental implants help stimulate the jawbone in a similar way to a natural tooth root, supporting long-term oral structure.

Because implants are fixed in place, many patients find they feel more comfortable compared to removable options.

During this time, Nicholas gained his Higher National Diploma in Maxillo-Facial Prosthetics and Technology.
Nick then spent a year at the Waikato Hospital in Hamilton, New Zealand. After this, Nick was then appointed Chief Maxillo-Facial Technologist at St Richards Hospital in Chichester. Three years later, Nick was offered a place at the University Of Western Australia Dental School, qualifying as a dental surgeon in 1999.
In 2001, Nick returned to Chichester, this time to work in dental practice, before joining the Briars Dental Centre in 2006. Although very much enjoying the variations of general practice, Nick has interests in implantology, endodontics (root canal therapy), crowns and bridges.

A dental implant is a small titanium post that is placed into the jawbone to replace the root of a missing tooth. It provides a stable foundation for a custom-made replacement tooth designed to look and function naturally.
Many patients are suitable for dental implants. Suitability depends on factors such as bone levels, gum health, and general oral health. This is assessed during your consultation using clinical examination and imaging.
Treatment is carried out using local anaesthetic to ensure the area is comfortable. Most patients report that the procedure feels similar to other routine dental treatments. Some mild discomfort afterwards is normal and typically manageable.
Treatment timelines vary depending on individual circumstances. In many cases, implants are placed first and allowed time to integrate with the bone before the final replacement tooth is fitted. We will explain expected timeframes clearly during your consultation.
Dental implants are designed to be a long-term solution. With good oral hygiene and regular dental care, many implants can last for many years.
Yes. Dental implants can be used to replace a single missing tooth, several teeth, or support a full set of replacement teeth, depending on your needs.
In some cases, additional treatments may help prepare the area for implant placement. Your suitability will be assessed carefully, and options will be explained clearly.
Dental implants are cared for in a similar way to natural teeth, with regular brushing, cleaning between teeth, and routine dental visits.
The cost of treatment depends on the number of implants required and the complexity of the case. You will receive a clear personalised cost estimate following your consultation.
